For those of you who are yet not familiar with the Veydra Mini Primes, they are some terrific budget cine lenses with a robust metal housing, matched optics, unified fronts, long focus throw, geared rings and pretty much all you’d expect form cine lenses. Unlike most cine primes, which are predominantly PL mount glass, the Veydras were initially designed for use with Micro Four Thirds compact cameras like the Panasonic GH4 and the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema camera.
The mid-range focal lengths Veydra Mini Primes – the 25mm, 35mm, 50mm and soon the upcoming 85mm do offer APS-C sensor coverage and are now even available in Sony E mount expanding their use onto APS-C/Super 35 cameras like the Sony NEX-FS700, Sony FS7 and Sony A7RII, which is meant to be used in Super 35 crop mode when shooting 4K.
Vedra founder Ryan Avery recently announced a Universal Lens Support for the Veydra Mini Primes.

The Veydra Universal Lens Support ($119 from B&H) fits all Veydra Mini Primes. The currently available Micro Four Thirds, Sony E, and C Mounts, which are generally made for using stills lenses, can be considered rather thin, thus possibly causing follow focus slippage. The Universal Lens Support prevents such and provides additional stability when mounted onto 15mm rods.
The Universal Lens Support uses a simple clamp design and a bottom brass 1/4-20 thread designed to fit into any standard 15mm LWS Rod Support using 1/4 20 inch threads.
The Universal Lens Support requires a 1/4-20 to 15mm LWS Rod Support available from Veydra and other manufacturers. For interface with standard 15mm LWS Rod systems including but not limited to the DFocus DRails.
The 15mm LWS Rod Support, pictured above can be purchased separately for $60 or in a bundle with the Universal Lens Support for $179.
The Veydra Mini Primes and accessories are also available from major resellers such as B&H and Adorama.
