Premiere Pro CC Exposure Transitions Pack + Free Download

In case you are you looking for some creative ways to add style and flavor to your edit while switching between shots, you’ve just come to the right place.

Typically, those type of premade transitions can run you a significant amount of money, which is ridiculous considering that more often than not you’ll need the effect to move from one shot to another just once. So, what if you could get a set of transitions that are not only high-quality and versatile but also absolutely free of charge?

Avid YouTuber Kyler Holland has generously released another stellar pack of striking transitions for Premiere Pro CC that play on different exposure and image color settings, giving you various methods of transitioning between a vast array of shots.

Inside of the transitions pack, you’ll find 25 transition effects that you can use in any of your projects. The style of the transitions primarily manipulates the exposure, saturation, and color channels of your clips which can lead to some stylistic and intriguing effects, depending on how you use them. The pack is available for free through this link, although if you want to support Kyler’s work, you can choose to donate what you believe is reasonable for his effort.

Once you’ve got the pack downloaded, unzip the downloaded file and inside of Premiere Pro CC, head over to the Effect Tab. Under Effects, right click on the tab and go to Presets > Import Presets and then navigate to the location of the transition pack files. That will import all the transition presets so that you can easily use them in your current and future projects.

To take advantage of any of these transition presets, first you will need to create an adjustment layer since, obviously, this is not a typical transition effect. Once you do so, you should place the adjustment layer in between the clips you want to transition, making the layer last for around 80 frames (40 for the first clip, 40 for the second). All that’s left to do is to select a preset and apply it to the adjustment layer.

The great thing about this pack (besides the fact that won’t cost you a dime) is the ability to customize the look of each transition. While there are many presets created by Holland (varying in speed, intensity, and color effect), you can go in and adjust any of the transitions if the current presets don’t fit your needs.

To do so, click on the adjustment layer and access the Effect Controls panel where you’ll see multiple options to tweak parameters such as speed ramping and color effects. Again, all the credit goes to Kyler Holland for creating this awesome pack and sharing it with the community.
