Earlier today, Apple officially unveiled the highly-anticipated and extensively leaked iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus along with the new super flagship iPhone X referring to the 10th anniversary of the first iPhone. Even though the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus models seem to be notable upgrades to Apple’s current iPhone 7 and 7 Plus range, the iPhone X is the one that has made a real splash at the first-ever event held in the Steve Jobs Theater at the brand new Apple Park campus.
With its completely overhauled all-glass design, a stunning 5.8-inch Super Retina display, Face ID, A11 Bionic chip, wireless charging and an improved rear camera with dual optical image stabilization, the brand new iPhone X aims to take the smartphone technology to the next level.
Apple claims that the all-glass front and back feature the most durable glass ever used on a smartphone device. There’s also a highly polished, surgical-grade stainless steel band that seamlessly wraps around and reinforces the device making it even more durable than its predecessors while still maintaining water and dust resistance.
Furthermore, the 5.8-inch Super Retina display with 2436 x 1125 resolution and 458ppi is the first OLED panel ever in an iPhone. The HDR display supports Dolby Vision and HDR10 alongside million-to-one contrast ratio. The addition of True Tone dynamically adjusts the white balance of the display to match the surrounding light.
On the video side, the iPhone X is capable of recording 4K video at 24 fps, 30 fps, or 60 fps alongside 1080p HD video recording at 30 fps, 60 fps, 120fps and 240fps while using the highly efficient HEVC (H.265) codec for up to two times compression and storage for twice the photos and videos.
The Apple’s flagship smartphone also sports a redesigned dual 12-megapixel rear camera system with dual optical image stabilization. The wide-angle camera has a maximum aperture of ƒ/1.8 while the telephoto camera now features improved ƒ/2.4 aperture.
Beyond that, iPhone X users can also shoot time‑lapse videos with stabilization, continuous autofocus videos while using the integrated body and face detection, enable noise reduction, take 8MP still photos while recording 4K video and much more. The new Portrait Lighting seems to be another neat feature that creates facial landmarks and enhances light effects on the face while shooting.
Due to the improved Apple-designed image signal processor, deeper pixels, and new color filter, the latest iPhone delivers advanced pixel processing, wide color capture, faster autofocus in low light and better HDR photos. The Apple-designed video encoder, on the other hand, provides real-time image and motion analysis for optimal quality video.
Other noteworthy features and enhancements of the iPhone X include Face ID (a powerful and secure authentication system), wireless charging, extended battery life providing two more hours of battery life than the iPhone 7, AR support, Animoji messages and more.

does the all glass back also mean the camera lenses are glass too? i was reading that the benefit of the LVG30 was that their cameras had glass lenses instead of the standard plastic
