Canon has just introduced the brand new EOS 250D/Rebel SL3. Billed as the world’s lightest DSLR, the unit weighs only 451 grams (15.9oz) including the battery (LP-E17). The tiny and lightweight camera features a 24.1MP APS-C-format CMOS sensor and DIGIC 8 image processor, along with a wide ISO 100-25,600 sensitivity range which can be further extended up to ISO 51,200.
The EOS 250D can record up to 4K (3840×2160) video at 23.98 or 25 fps in inter-frame using H.264. Video recording is benefitted by the inclusion of Dual Pixel CMOS AF and Movie Servo AF focusing functions alongside the 3.0″ 1.04m-dot touchscreen LCD for intuitive control.
In-camera 4K time-lapse movie creation is also possible on the EOS 250D with interval settings between 1 second and 60 minutes and 2 and 3600 consecutive frames respectively.
When shooting stills using the optical viewfinder, a 9-point phase-detection system is used for quick and accurate focusing in a variety of shooting scenarios. Another handy feature is the inclusion of a 3.5mm external audio jack.
The all-new entry-level camera also provides Wi-Fi and Bluetooth functionality for quick image sharing between devices as well as remote control capabilities. Other notable features include Creative Assist, Feature Assistant and Shooting Mode Guide, custom picture profiles, creative filters and more.
