DJI Doubles Down on Capacity with NextGen Power Unit

DJI has released an upgraded power supply unit called the DJI Power 2000, which offers enhanced capacity and efficiency.

This new model features a higher power input while maintaining a compact design, ensuring it does not compromise overall capacity.

With the ability to expand to a total of 22,528 watt-hours and recharge to 80% in just 55 minutes, the DJI Power 2000 is ideal for film and TV production.

It also serves as a reliable backup for home power needs, camping trips, and any situation where dependable power is essential.

“Recognizing the growing demand for power across various scenarios, we’ve developed this higher-capacity model to meet user needs,” said Christina Zhang, Senior Director of Corporate Strategy at DJI.

“Whether used at home or in an outdoor setting, our new Power 2000 and its accessories are designed to satisfy demanding power requirements.”

Zhang elaborated that DJI has increased the onboard power capacity while optimizing the size-to-capacity ratio, allowing the Power 2000 to remain compact without sacrificing performance.

The main Power 2000 module offers a capacity of 2048 watt-hours and up to 3000W of stable power output, all housed in a compact body measuring just 16 inches (40.6 cm), making it easy to store in a car or RV.

The Power 2000 can recharge digital cameras up to 118 times, mobile phones 114 times, laptops 18 times, and sustain lighting equipment for up to 2.4 hours, among other devices.

Moreover, users can expand the Power 2000 with additional 2048 watt-hour Power Expansion units, achieving a total capacity of 22,528 watt-hours.

This feature provides peace of mind for field operations, ensuring reliable power availability for demanding needs on location.

The Power 2000 also incorporates an automatic UPS mode that begins powering a device for continuous and seamless operation within 0.01 seconds in the event of a power outage.

With its four AC output ports, four USB-C ports, and four USB-A ports, the DJI Power 2000 can power over 99% of household appliances.

Multiple recharge options are available for the Power 2000. It can reach 80% capacity in just 55 minutes using standard grid power, achieving 100% in 90 minutes.

Users can also utilize solar power with the optional DJI Power 1.8kW Solar/Car Super Fast Charger, which fully recharges the power station in only 75 minutes.

Additionally, a car charger can function as a gas-powered generator, recharging the unit in approximately 145 minutes.

This power unit boasts an exceptional lifespan, retaining up to 80% of its total capacity after over 4,000 recharge cycles.

If recharged and recycled daily, it can last more than ten years before requiring replacement.
