NAB 2017: Wooden Camera UFF-1 Universal Follow Focus

Well-known camera accessories manufacturer Wooden Camera, just announced their UFF-1 Universal Follow Focus at NAB 2017. According to Wooden Camera this is the first follow focus to be compatible with 15mm LW, 15mm Studio, and 19mm rods without the use of adapters thus bringing a new meaning to the term “universal”. Users can simply unlock the clamps and slide to the appropriate rod position. Notches in the bottom of the bridge indicate when the clamp is in the correct position.

The included swing arm and lens gears can be flipped to the front or back position which is helpful for compact lens configuration and the bridge has the lowest height in the industry so it will work with the larger zoom lens barrels.

Wooden Camera UFF-1 Universal Follow Focus Base Kit

The hand wheel is compatible with the standard marking disc and hard stop disc which provides positionable limits when using DSLR lenses with infinite barrel rotation. In total, 2 marking discs and 1 hard stop disc are included.

The Universal Follow Focus from Wooden Camera is an easy fit for both cinema cameras like the Blackmagic URSA Mini Pro, or RED Scarlet-W, as well as more compact cameras like the Sony A7sII and Panasonic GH5 as long as users supply some form of 15mm or 19mm rods to attach the FF unit.

The hand wheel is removable and has a standard accessory port for use with the focus whip and crank (not included).

The UFF-1 Universal Follow Focus kit includes 5 gear attachments:

• .5 mod for Canon ENG
• .6 mod for Fujinon ENG
• .8 mod small diameter for Cinema Lenses
• .8 mod large diameter for Cinema Lenses
• Friction Gear for DSLR lenses

Each kit ships in custom cut foam which fits natively into a Pelican 1500 case, which is not included.

The UFF1 Base Kit is priced at $1,250 USD and it includes:
