DJI Hints At Next Gen Mavic 4 Pro with Spinning Triple Cameras for Expanded Coverage

DJI has teased its next-generation drone in a brief seven-second video on X, sparking speculation among UAV enthusiasts that it may be the Mavic 4 Pro.

This new drone aims to serve as a flagship model for high-end content creators, marking a return to advanced features after a focus on entry-level consumer UAVs like the DJI Neo and Flip.

With the tagline “Spin Your World,” DJI will officially unveil the drone on May 13th.

The teaser starts with a standard aerial shot of what appears to be a rocky beach, which then spins and transforms into a close-up of a Hasselblad three-camera gimbal array, a signature feature in DJI’s prosumer lineup.

According to sources like DroneDJ, industry chatter suggests that the upcoming model is likely the DJI Mavic 4 Pro.

This drone is expected to feature a three-camera array and a new spinning gimbal designed to provide horizon lock support.

The gimbal should wield extensive movement, with a pitch range believed to be from -90 to +70 degrees and a roll capability of up to 175 degrees.

This innovative design enables users to achieve dramatic camera angles and transition smoothly to vertical video, ideal for social media content. Users may also get a 360-degree stitched image option.

Delving into the rumored specifications, the main Hasselblad camera is expected to use a 100 MP micro 4/3 CMOS sensor paired with a wide-angle lens, capable of capturing 6K HDR video at 60 frames per second or 4K video at 120 fps.

The mid-range telephoto camera will feature a 70mm lens and a 1/1.3 inch 48 MP CMOS sensor, supporting 4K HDR at 60 fps or standard 4K at 120 fps.

Additionally, the long-range telephoto camera will have a 1/1.5 inch 50 MP CMOS sensor and a 168mm lens, also capable of capturing 4K HDR video at 60 fps or standard 4K at 100 fps.

The primary camera may offer a brighter F/2.0 aperture for enhanced low-light performance and support for lossless D-Log.

There are also rumors of a “Cine Version” featuring a built-in 2 TB SSD, while the standard version will come with 512GB of onboard storage.

DJI plans to improve the drone’s flight time, aiming for a ceiling of one hour. The Mavic 4 Pro is expected to include a 6654 mAh battery, providing a maximum flight time of 40 to 50 minutes.

To achieve this, DJI has redesigned the propellers for enhanced aerodynamics and added an advanced cooling system to support longer, more demanding flights.

While no official pricing or shipping details have been released, speculation indicates that the Mavic 4 Pro will retail for around $2,250.

There may also be Fly More Combo and Creator or Cine Bundles available, which would include upgraded remotes, extra smart batteries, propellers, and camera filters.

However, potential buyers should be prepared for additional costs due to current tariffs impacting trade policies with China.

That’s a roundup of all the rumors regarding the new DJI Drone. We’ll have to wait until May 13th to see just how accurate the rumor mill is.
