NAB 2016: New Filmpower Nebula 4100 3-axis Stabilizer, Roxor Pro 4K & Roxor 360 VR 3K Gimbal Camera

Filmpower Inc. to show off three new gimbal stabilisers, including new 4K version of the Roxor and a new 360 VR gimbal camera, at NAB 2016. Filmpower made a name for themselves among independent filmmakers with their original Nebula 4000 Lite pistol grip gimbal for compact cameras like the Panasonic GH4 and then later expanded their range to include an integrated camera gimbal called the Roxor. The Roxor gimbal camera got off to a bit of a rocky start with a limited and non-shootable 10fps 4K recording and not so wow-factor image quality, but nevertheless it can do 2.7K at 30p and for a while it was at a special pre-order price of $199 (which later reverted to the $399 normal price after the promotional period). However, the successor Pro models seems to have addressed the frame rate issues and also added a slick facelift and what appears to be a more polished design (at last as good as one can see from a 3D rendered model).

Filmpower also released their 5-axis stabiliser Nebula 4200 back in September last year, which traded the single hand design of its predecessor 4000 lite for an improved spring-assisted dual hand operation.

The company will show off a few new models at NAB 2016 in Las Vegas starting next Monday 16th, April. The new models include a single-hand 3-axis gimbal stabiliser called the Nebula 4100 and two new Roxor models – the Roxor PRO that actually now does UHD (3840 x 2160) at 30p and a pretty decent 1080p at 120 frames per second, and a new Roxor 360 – a 360 degree gimbal camera.
