For those of you who have been eagerly waiting for an option to properly mount the DJI’s X5 mirrorless camera on your DJI Osmo, we’re excited to let you know that the waiting is finally over. Now the Osmo X5 Adapter allows the Zenmuse X5 Gimbal and Camera to be used with the Osmo handle. It also provides a communication port for the DJI Focus to control aperture and focus. Along with this accessory, DJI also unveiled the Osmo External Battery Extender. In essence, this accessory prolongs the operating time of the Osmo by connecting to external power sources such as a dedicated DJI charger or Intelligent Battery. It is ideal for using the Osmo in extended period operations when shooting time-lapse videos or utilising the bigger X5 camera and shooting in Raw.
The Osmo Z-Axis arm is the third product recently added to the Osmo accessory line-up. It provides 4-axis stabilisation to your workflow and can be extremely efficient when you are running or jumping while operating the DJI Osmo. Overall, it’s an essential accessory for all occasions when you need additional stabilization on vertical movements.
As we can see from the video above, the Z-Axis Arm works like a mini Steadicam Arm when mounted on the DJI Osmo. It is also compatible with the Zenmuse X3 gimbal and camera. In addition, the Z-Axis users have the option to adjust the tension of the spring for extra stability.
The best part is that you can still keep the small form factor of the DJI Osmo with these accessories so that you can continue to operate it with a single hand. Keep in mind that the Zenmuse X5 camera and gimbal isn’t cheap, though, unless you already own it as part of your Inpsire1 Pro Drone Kit. The DJI Osmo X5 Adapter, the Battery Extender, and the Z-Axis arm come with a retail price of $109,00, $29,00 and $149,00 respectively.
