I am sure that most of you are quite familiar with the Samyang (and their Rokinon brand, which is the same thing) of lenses have been quite popular with indie filmmakers thanks to their affordable manual lenses that come in both stills and video form (with geared mechanical rings for aperture and focus – a must for serious filmmaking). I am a Samyang shooter and I’m quite pleased with my really cheap, but quite cheerful set of VDSLR Mark II cine primes ranging from 14mm to 135mm.
However, in the last year or so, Samyang have been getting more serious about their photography lens line-up, expanding it to include not just manual, but also autofocus lenses. Earlier today, Samyang announced the AF 35mm f/1.4 FE (full-frame) lens designed for Sony E mount.
