On September 2nd RED has introduced its latest offering – the RED V-RAPTOR. It is the first RED camera that sports a DSMC3 body using RED PRO CFexpress cards instead of RED Mini Mags. The unit has a compact form factor only slightly larger than the RED KOMODO.
It also boasts a 35.4MP CMOS Vista Vision sensor (40.96mm x 21.60mm) capable of shooting 8K RAW up to 120fps alongside 6K up to 198fps (in Super 35 mode), 4K up to 240fps, and 2K up to 480fps in 17:9 mode. One of the handy new features of the V-RAPTOR is the dedicated user display on the side of the camera with an intuitive interface designed for camera assistants who need to adjust settings such as LUTs, controls, presets, formats, and general configuration.
RED has just confirmed that the V-RAPTOR is now officially available to order, so if you are one of those content creators eagerly waiting to place an order, you can do so right away.
The camera is available as a standalone unit or you can get it as part of a Starter Pack which besides the body itself includes 660GB CFexpress Card and Card Reader, DSMC3 RED Touch 7.0″ LCD Monitor, 2 x REDVOLT MICRO-V Batteries & Charger, 2 x V-RAPTOR Wing Grips, and a 3′ EXT to Timecode Cable.
