Tilta has announced a new camera cage for the Canon EOS R5C, which will guard against impact damage and provide additional mounting points including NATO Rails, an ARRI Rosette, and numerous 1/4-20 attachment points.
Constructed out of aircraft-grade aluminum, the EOS R5C camera cage is designed to provide access to all ports on the R5C, and it weighs a decent 182.5g.
The camera can be mounted through a locating pin and a screw attachment that can be affixed with a magnetically attached flathead screwdriver.
The top of the cage has three cold shoe mounts and two 1/4-20 screw holes with lock pins. There’s also a NATO Rail. On the grip, the cage has even more mounting threads and attachment points for a mounted wrist strap.

An optional top handle can provide even more attachment points including another pair of cold shoe mounts with locking pins.
Sitting on the side is an ARRI rosette mount, shoulder strap attachment, and a secondary NATO rail. There are also three more 1/4-20 points, a few 3/8” attachment threads, and a pair of M3 threads. On the front is a pair of M3 screw holes.

The Rig can also attach Tilta’s V-Mount battery plate underneath to provide extended power through a 60W USB-C power delivery (PD) connection.
The battery plate can be mounted on standard 15mm roads underneath the cage through a secondary adapter, as well as on the bottom of the cage with a Swiss Mount. It can also be mounted on the side from one of the additional attachment points on the cage itself.

The camera grip can also be swapped out for an optional power grip, which can plug into the camera through the USB-C connection. According to Tilta, this brings an additional 150 minutes of power for 8K60p Raw recording.
The retail price of the Tilta R5C Camera cage is listed at $99. A kit is also available for $169 that includes the cage, top handle, EF Mount adapter, HDMI clamp attachment, and an HDMI to Micro HDMI adapter.
The optional Smart V mount battery plate is $149, and the V Mounted baseplate is $169. However, a 10% off discount can be applied if preordered now.
