Insta360 continues to challenge GoPro’s dominance in the action camera space by launching a pair of new Ace and Ace Pro cameras that the company calls the smartest action cameras on the market.
Powered by a new, 5 nm ACE CMOS image sensor, a Leica-designed Summar IT lens, and a 2.4” flip-up LED touchscreen, the Ace and Ace Pro action cameras offer a host of new groundbreaking features that make action camera footage look like it was being used in a broadcast sporting event.

The heart of the Insta360 ACE Pro system is an elite 1/1.3” CMOS image sensor and 5 nm chip that produces 4K HDR video at up to 120 frames per second with a maximum bitrate of 170 Mbps. 48 MP still images, and Pure Video low-light image capture.
Conversely, the more budget-friendly Insta360 Ace action camera is designed with a smaller, 1/2” image sensor for capturing up to 6K video.
The Ace Pro uses a 16mm F2.6 Leica Summar IT lens (F2.4 for the lower-priced Ace) with a field of view of 151° and three microphones for recording 16-bit AAC audio with wind reduction, stereo, and directional modes.
New AI-Driven Features
Both cameras use AI to bring a host of new features to the action camera design including denoising footage for a clearer image, enhanced brightness, instant video editing tools, and generative AI warp features that overlay dynamic visual effects.
The ACE cameras also provide AI generative layers of professional cinematic touches to make video footage more interesting.
“We’re making significant steps in AI,” said Insta360 founder JK Liu, “which has allowed us to bring in new features that we think not only make the video creation process easier for users but unlock completely new ways to make shots truly stand out.”

The cameras are also the first action cameras equipped with a stats dashboard overlay for integrating metadata such as GPS, speed, and other stats from a Garmin GPS device or Apple Watch. The result is a video image that looks like it was featured on ESPN.
The Ace and Ace Pro also enhance the capture of images through Insta360’s Invisible Selfie Stick effect by using the new AI Selfie Stick Eraser to create a more natural-looking third-person angle that makes the selfie stick completely invisible.
The camera also has a 360° Horizon Lock to keep videos perfectly level no matter what angle the camera is at. With additional image stabilization through Insta360’s FlowState technology for 6-axis image stabilization, user footage is sure to be as steady as a rock.

The flip-up 2.4” LED touchscreen gives users the option of properly framing selfies and video vlogs, plus hard-to-capture angles for optimal monitoring without moving the camera from its built-in magnetic mounting system.
Other features include gesture control, instant recording cancelation, 2 digital zooms with no loss of detail, and photo grab for pulling high-resolution stills from your 4K video. There is also a pause/resume recording feature to eliminate dead spaces and lulls in the action.

The Action design is also capable of handling depths up to the industry standard of 33 feet (10 meters), which can be extended to 196 feet (60 meters) through the use of the Insta360 Dive Case.
It can operate seamlessly in temperatures as low as -4° F (-20° C) and as high as 104° (40°C).
Super Fast Charging
The Ace Pro Battery Life is also extended to up to 100 minutes while recording 4K video at 30 fps, with a standard recording time of 46 minutes, with PD fast charging bringing the 1650 mAh battery up to 80% charge in just 22 minutes, a full charge in 46 minutes.
Meanwhile, the budget-friendly Ace offers standard charging with a slightly larger 1700 mAh battery.
