Sachtler has launched a new series of lightweight tripods specially designed for video and broadcast work in the field.
The Ace M Mk. II and Ace XL Mk. II tripods have robust fluid heads that promise low drag and multi-step counterbalancing.
They are designed to carry camera payloads ranging from 9.7-17.6 pounds (4.4-8 kg) while maintaining an overall weight of just under 10 pounds.

According to Barbara Jaumann, product manager at Sachtler, “The new ACE M Mk II and ACE XL Mk II are among the lightest-weight tripod systems on the market, but still offer the key features that have made Sachtler the industry standard for professional lightweight camera supports – smooth camera movement and maximum stability.”

The Sachtler Ace M Mk. II is ideal for content creators working on location. It is a lightweight tripod system that can carry cameras up to 8.8 pounds. It is constructed from high-grade aluminum for the sticks and carry handle and has a choice of spreaders. The Ace M Mk. II fluid head provides camera operators with smooth drag adjustment and quick counterbalancing through five steps of adjustment.

For larger camera payloads, the Ace XL Mk. II can support camera packages up to 17.6 pounds and offers an additional four steps of counterbalance adjustment for carrying more heavily accessorized camera packages.
The Ace XL also has an illuminated balancing bubble plus a removable stud for adding a camera slider. The head also supports faster tripod setups, including the Sachtler Flowtech75.

In addition, the Sachtler 75 mm tripods that come with the Ace M Mk. II or Ace XL Mk. II system features multimeter 3/8 inch mounting points for attaching additional camera accessories such as lights, carrying handles, or magic arms without burdening the camera setup itself.
The mounting points are located on the tripod bowl, and there is also an additional detachable flowtech-style spreader for increased agility.

Pricing and Availability
The Sachtler Ace M Mk II is available from authorized Sachtler resellers starting at a retail package price of $850, while the Ace XL Mk II tripod head retails for $655, with packages including sticks starting at $1197.
