GoPro is Having a Summer Sale

To celebrate over 50 million action cameras sold in the last 15 years, GoPro is having a summer sale with significant discounts on the Hero 12 Black Action Camera.

During what the company calls the “best deal of the year,” users can save up to $150 on GoPro’s Flagship Action camera and receive a free one-year subscription to GoPro Premium. Could this mean a new Hero is on the horizon?

The GoPro Hero 12 Black comes with a range of professional image-capturing features. It includes a 24.7MP 8:7 image sensor that can record 5.3K60 video or 8x 2.7K Slow Motion in different aspect ratios.

The large sensor lets users switch between standard and vertical aspect ratios using the same image file. Additionally, with its GP2 processor, the camera can maintain an impressive cinematic dynamic range and HDR color gamut.

The camera also supports GoPro’s own Log profile for optimal image quality in post-production and offers 10-bit HDR color output. GoPro has also introduced support for LUTs, allowing creators to apply custom looks to their GoPro footage.

Another professional-grade feature of the Hero 12 Black is its wireless timecode sync, enabling synchronization with an unlimited number of Hero 12 Black cameras for easier multi-camera editing.

The camera also features a 30-second prebuffer, allowing for capturing 27MP pre-shot without missing the moment.

The camera also supports up to four wireless Bluetooth external microphones, such as RØDE Wireless Me or Wireless Pro microphones, as well as wireless earbuds like Apple’s AirPods.

GoPro has also expanded the commands available through the camera’s “Easy Controls” voice commands, providing nearly complete control of the camera hands-free.

The power delivery system of GoPro’s Enduro batteries has been fine-tuned to provide up to 70 minutes of continuous recording at 5.3K60, over 95 minutes at 5.3K30, and over 155 minutes at 1080p30.

While recharging during a break, the GoPro Hero 12 Black will automatically wirelessly upload all media to the cloud, where GoPro Quik will create a highlight reel.

Pricing and availability

For a limited time, GoPro is offering the Hero 12 Black, with a one-year GoPro Premium online subscription, for $299, a $150 discount.

The camera comes with a GoPro Enduro Rechargeable Li-Ion Battery, Curved Adhesive Mount, Mounting Buckle, Thumbscrew, USB-C Cable, and a Limited 1-Year Manufacturer Warranty.

GoPro is also giving users a free one-year Premium subscription, which provides several important benefits including Damaged camera replacement, $100 off your next GoPro camera, 50% off other accessories at GoPro.com, Auto Upload of video footage, and unlimited cloud backup at 100% image quality.

And if there’s a new Hero on the Horizon, it’s a good time to get that Premium subscription for when a Hero 13 comes!

This offer is available for a limited time, so if you’ve been thinking of getting a new GoPro, now is the time.
