“With StudioSonic, we’re providing a microphone that meets the mobility and precision demands of today’s content creators,” said Peter Barber, the new CEO of Atomos.
“It combines robust construction, flexible connectivity, and studio-quality audio all in an attractive directional shotgun form factor.”
The StudioSonic Shotgun Microphone includes a uniquely designed locking USB-C connector for a secure wired connection to cameras and computers.
Additionally, it offers a wireless option that operates over a 2.4 GHz radio band, with a secure, encrypted connection that allows creators to record high-quality audio on set in various situations.

From run-and-gun shooting to field reporting, the StudioSonic captures high-quality 48kHz 24-bit audio using a super cardioid design that effectively isolates dialogue, even in noisy environments.
The microphone features both 75 Hz low-cut and 140 Hz high-cut filters to minimize unwanted ambient noise and focus on the subject’s dialogue.

It is supported by a 2.4 GHz receiver with less than 20 ms latency and a working range of up to 100 meters in line of sight, or 20 meters in congested environments.
With a high-frequency boost and manual gain control, audio engineers can achieve improved sound clarity while maintaining precise adjustment capabilities.
