Zoom has just unveiled the H6Studio, its next-generation portable audio recorder.
Featuring 32-bit float recording, larger microphone capsules, and studio-grade preamps, the H6Studio is designed to be the most advanced and user-friendly recorder the company has ever produced.

Building on the success of the four-track H5Studio, the new H6Studio doubles the recording capability, capturing up to six individual tracks plus one stereo mix for a total of eight at sampling rates of up to 96 kHz.
It also supports individual sampling rates from 44.1 to 192 kHz. Its F-series preamps deliver an impressive 127 dBu EIN for exceptionally clean, low-noise audio, while dual A/D converters provide up to 132 dB of dynamic range.
The H6Studio’s 32-bit float recording ensures protection against clipping from unexpectedly loud sources.
Six adjustable control knobs enable precise input management, providing users with the benefits of both 32-bit float and 24-bit capture – resulting in minimal distortion during recording and a reduced need for post-production correction.

Zoom has equipped the H6Studio with large 19.4mm XYH-5s XY microphone capsules.
These mics capture a flat, detailed response with a dynamic range up to 140 dB SPL.
Positioned at a 90-degree angle, they provide a true XY stereo configuration that minimizes phase issues.

Connectivity options include four XLR-¼” TRS combo inputs with up to 48 V of phantom power, a dedicated 3.5mm stereo line input, and a 3.5mm stereo output for camera connections or safety tracks.
Users can also switch to line-level input, supporting +4 dBu signals.
Additional features make the H6Studio a versatile tool for both studio and field use.
The recorder offers 6×2 USB audio connections, allowing 16- or 32-bit float recording directly to computers or smart devices, while simultaneously backing up to a microSD card.
It includes mono mode, a low-cut filter to reduce unwanted noise, and onboard normalize and export functions for audio files in 16- or 24-bit WAV format.
Playback functions include variable speed from 0.5x to 2.0x, an A-B repeat option, and a recording start tone.
The H6Studio delivers up to 15 hours of battery-powered operation, and can also run from a USB power bank or optional AC adapter.
