Budget cine lens maker SLR Magic have been on a roll this year announcing new lenses left and right. At NAB 2016 they announced some new sweet anamorphic lenses, and APO Prime lenses for PL cameras, and now at the height of CineGear EXPO in heart of Hollywood, the company is announcing two more budget full-frame cine lenses for the popular Sony E mount. The new SLR Magic CINE 35mm f1.2 and telephoto CINE 75mm f1.4 primes cover full-frame 35mm (36 x 24mm) and also offer full manual control with a manual aperture and focus ring, both with a built-in focus gear ring for easy integration with industry standard follow-focus systems. Sony A7sII, Sony A7RII and even Sony FS5 and FS7 shooters can now take advantage of their compact size and robust build quality and with the native E mount, there is no need for expensive adapters.
The two new full-frame Sony E mount lenses, join the already available SLR Magic 50mm f1.1, which comes in with a pretty affordable price tag of just $369 USD, and that’s for a full-frame f1.1 lens. The new 35mm f1.2 and 75mm f1.4 share a similar fast aperture and affordable price tags of $499 USD. Both lenses are slated for release in August from authorised resellers.
