Samyang/Rokinon New 50mm T1.3 and Wide-Angle 21mm T1.5 Cine Lenses for Super 35/APS-C Sensors

Earlier today in somewhat of a surprise announcement, Asian lens manufacturer Samyang announced two new lenses designed for mirrorless cameras with APS-C and smaller sensors. The new cine lenses of interest to video professionals and enthusiasts are the 21mm T1.5 and the 50mm T1.3, both available in Cine style – with fluid aperture and built in geared focus and aperture rings. Stills versions rated at F1.4 and F1.2 will also be available for those who want to save some money on the already super affordable lenses. The two new lenses sadly do not offer full-frame coverage, however Panasonic GH4 shooters and those with newer Sony A7R II (in Super 35 4K mode) or Sony FS7 / FS700 should benefit from these faster lenses (especially GH4 shooters, where every extra half stop counts).

Unlike their recently announced XEEN Cine lenses (which recently got a discount of $300), these two new lenses are no go for the A7s and other full frame cameras in full-frame mode, but with a Speed Booster on the GH4 should be very nice.
