Lol, popular Japanese camera blog Nokishita, just revealed the leaked spec sheet for the Canon EOS M6 Mark II as well as promo videos for the EOS 90D and EOS M6 Mark II.
Courtesy at someone from Canon Australia, the spec sheet reveals an APS-C sized 32.5 megapixel CMOS sensor, a DiGIC 8 process, Dual Pixel AF with face tracking, as well as un-cropped 4K/30p. The camera also has a 180-degree upwards tilting touch screen for vlogging and selfie purposes.
They way I see it, this new Canon EOS M6 Mark II mirrorless camera is positioned as a competitor to the upcoming Sony a6700, or whatever they end up calling the Sony a6500 APS-C successor, that is also scheduled to be unveiled towards the end of the month.
As we get closer to the end of Q3, it’s a common practice for camera and gear manufacturers to announce new products and start shipping them before the end of Q4, which is usually a very strong quarter given how we all love spending money during the Xmas holiday season. So, I wouldn’t be surprised to see more of these consumer/prosumer cameras announced by various manufacturers before the end of September.
For those of you, who still prefer to rock a good ol’ compact DSLR, Canon will be unveiling the EOS M6 II DSLR counterpart – the Canon EOS 90D with flip-out screen at the end of the month. The leaked specifications and promo video reveal the same 32.5 megapixel CMOS APS-C sensor (presumably as the one in the EOS M6 II), 4K/30p video and 1080p/120fps as well as a fully articulating touchscreen.
