Canon to Announce a New EOS Cinema Camera Despite NAB Cancellation

Remember the report regarding the new mysterious EOS cinema camera that Canon was planning to announce ahead of NAB 2020 that we told you about here?

According to Canon Rumors, despite the fact that the world’s largest and most comprehensive electronics trade show won’t take place in Las Vegas next month due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, it’s very likely that the Japanese behemoth will announce all new products that were scheduled to be showcased at the event, including the brand new EOS cinema camera in question.

CR speculates that this will be the brand new EOS C300 Mark III, even though the name of the newcomer is still unconfirmed.

All we know thus far is that the new cinema camera will follow the same form factor as the recently released EOS C500 Mark II and will have a user interchangeable EF and PL mount alongside Super 35mm sensor and 4K video capabilities.

The latest rumors suggest that it will be capable of shooting 4K video up to 120fps internally. Of course, all of the above should be taken with a grain of salt at this stage. We’ll keep you updated, once we know more. To be continued…
