DJI has just announced its latest FPV Goggles V2. The second iteration of the company’s original FPV Goggles offers a plethora of notable upgrades such as a higher refresh rate, improved resolution in low-latency mode, along with some other incremental improvements.
Those of you who already own the original FPV Goggle headset might not be able to find some significant differences when comparing it to the new model, at least on the outside. Even though the newcomer looks and weighs the same, it offers a higher refresh rate (144mhZ), which could be extremely beneficial when flying your drone at faster speeds.
Besides that, the unit features the same 1440 x 810 resolution per eye like its predecessor, but unlike the original FPV Googles, the new headset could utilize the full resolution in all available modes.
Additionally, the FPV Goggles V2 offer enhanced microSD card support. The headset accepts memory cards up to 256GB which doubles the capacity of the old model.
Other than that, the new model comes with an improved 1800 mAh battery which offers up to 110-minute runtime, plus it can be charged via USB-C. Optionally, DJI Goggles V2 will also support other 11.1 to 25.2 V batteries which seems to be another welcome feature.
Last but not least, the just-announced DJI FPV Goggles can utilize 2.4 GHz communication protocol. The original FPV Goggles only supported the 5.8 GHz channel whereas the FPV Goggles V2 use both the 2.4 GHz and the 5.8 GHz frequency bands.
