Promising lightning-fast and reliable read/write times, Sabrent has announced a new line of affordable V90 SD cards that will cost $200 less than the competition. Can the media card space handle all that speed for that little price?
Rated for UHS Speed class 3, Sabrent’s new Rocket line of SD cards start in sizes ranging from 64GB to up to 512GB and can get up to 280GB/s read and 250GB/s write speeds. An SD card at half a terabyte?
Man, it seems like only yesterday that 128GB was the top end of media cards! Sabrent says they are compatible with just about any camera or other devices and can records from FullHD all the way up to 8K at 30fps.
Moreover, the SD cards are built with Toshiba’s 112-layer BiCS5 3D TLC NAND flash memory technology. Sabrent claims that the 3D design made for blazingly fast testing, with the Rocket SD cards surpassing the rated speed without unwanted hitching, accomplishing performance speeds reaching 290GB/s across all card sizes.
Featuring advanced flash management technologies such as bad block management and static and dynamic wear-leveling, Sabrent says that the Rocket SD cards will remain safe and reliable even after “years of extended use.”
That’s a bold claim, considering SD cards can easily fail at the worst times when shooting out in the field.
Consequently, an even bolder claim is the price that Sabrent is expecting to fetch for the V90 cards, with prices coming starting at under $200 less than their nearest competitor, the recently announced Wise V90.
Preorder prices start at $600 for the 512GB V90, and down to $69.99 for the 64GB variety. Delivery is expected to begin April 24th.
