The nice thing about the SmallRig Camera Cage Kit for Kinefinity MAVO Edge 6K/8K is that they are nearly identical in size. That means that the new SmallRig Camera Cage can fit both quite nicely.
With a modular design, the SmallRig Camera Cage for the Kinefinity Mavo Edge gives the creators plenty of options depending on their shooting style and needs for that given day on set. The cage is made out of aircraft-grade aluminum alloy and steel for strength and has silicon gaskets to protect the camera from rubbing against the metal parts.

But even with its stout metal construction, the camera cage still only weighs about 883 grams (about 31 oz) when fully assembled. This translates to keeping your camera light and mobile when needed and tooled out when the rig is built onto a tripod.
The cage consists of:
- 1 x Cage (top plate, bottom plate, 2x side plate)
- 1 x SmallRig NATO Top Handle HTN2439
- 1 x SmallRig Rod Clamp (with NATO rail) 3011
- 1 x SmallRig Universal LWS Baseplate with Dual 15mm Rod Clamp 3357
- 15 x 1/4″-20 Screw
- 1 x Allen Wrench

The cage is built to provide easy access to all camera buttons, media card slots, controls, and connectors with no obstruction to the camera cooling vents. Top and bottom plates are also slotted to ensure that air flows unabated to the camera module for proper heat dissipation.
There are also plenty of attachment points with 1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16 threads, as well as cold shoe mounts and 15mm rod clamp attachments, while the side walls support ARRI rosettes and NATO rails.
Each modular component is designed to work in concert as a full cage, or independently when a shooter wants to keep their rig simple and light. This provides for a myriad of options as the needs of the camera shift, without being bogged down with parts that are only getting in the way.

The 15mm rod clamp, for instance, can be attached on top of a NATO rail or switched to the bottom of the cage for mounting of a follow focus or other accessories. This translates to maximum flexibility for maximum control.
Moreover, the cage also supports the addition of other SmallRig accessories including wooden grips that attach to the rosettes, NATO handles, and SmallRig’s compact follow focus assembly.
