Small HD has announced a suitcase-sized ultra-bright 4K cinema monitor that is not only portable and lightweight but can show your video in glorious 4K to anyone wanting a glimpse. With upgrades over the previous 1703 P3X HD, the Cine 18 4K High Bright Production Monitor fits square in between the smaller 13” and massive 24” models.
Stating that Cine 18 was inspired by feedback from onset professionals and not just a marketing strategy, SmallHD proudly proclaims that the Cine 18 meets a real on-set need. The monitor is large enough for post-production workflows but lightweight and durable enough to use remotely on set in challenging locations.

Weighing 12 pounds, the Cine 18 is 4K ready, with 4x 12G/6G/3G/HD-SDI inputs and outputs, as well as hot-swappable power inputs and multiple accessory power points. Additionally, the Cine18 has 4x removable cheese mounting sticks and a removable bottom cheese mounting rail for added versatility.

Several key monitoring tools include SmallHD’s PageOS software toolset with 4K HDR waveform and scopes, Color Pipe HDR color rendering, the Monitor Calibration Wizard, Frame Guides, Focus & Exposure Assist, and 3D LUTs to help streamline your workflow. PageOS also includes Livegrade integration and other improvements.
The monitor displays 10-bit color in REC709 with 98% DCI-P3 color accuracy with a 1000 to 1 contrast ratio and has a brightness of 1100 nits. It can be powered by XLR or 34v DC power through 2 V-mount or Gold Mount accessory plates.
