Motion picture production manufacturer Anton/Bauer has announced its next generation VCLX NM2 mobile power pack for use on location for broadcast and cinema productions. The new VCLZ NM2 offers 600wh of consistent power at 14.4v, 28v, and 48v in order to power high draw equipment like Cinema camera rigs, lights, and a host of other gear that requires a diverse range of power needs.

With the option of offering outputs of between 14.v-48v, the VCLX NM2 offers one XLR3 and two XLR4 connectors, which provide dual simultaneous output with a consistent 24 amps at 28v or 12A at 48V.
The VCLX smart technology calculates the load based on power via XLR3, XLR4, or USB for maximum power efficiency.
The 2.4” LCD color screen offers status information including battery capacity, cycle count, temperature, and time-stamped reports, and the same information can be seen via WiFi through its built-in hotspot or downloaded to a USB thumb drive.

The new design for the VCLX NM2 makes it lighter, with an anodized aluminum exoskeleton, molded plastic end caps, and a handle grip. The total weight is 29.35 lbs (13.3kg), lighter than the previous model, and engineered to be water-resistant to up to 8.5” (2106cm).
The power pack also uses an efficient thermal design with passive cooling to eliminate the need for a fan, thereby eliminating fan noise.
With a retail price of $4200, the VCLX NM2 is available to order now priced from $4,200 at Anton/Bauer dealers.
As camera companies start moving towards a higher draw in power for their camera designs, having a power supply that offers multiple voltage options on set is an option that is more than welcome.
