Today, DZOFilm announced the release of a new set of Vespid cine lenses that are designed to transmit focusing and aperture data for virtual cinematography applications. Moreover, the lens sport an improved interaction with third-party autofocus systems including the DJI RS3 Pro Gimbal for faster focusing and camera control.
The full-frame set of Vespid Cyber Cine Prime set includes 35mm T2.1, 50mm T2.1, and 75mm T2.1 Cine Lenses is designed for minimum chromatic aberration and offers rich, accurate colors. The sharpness generates what DVOFilm calls a “cinematic” feeling while preserving an organic look and fine detail.

Close-up focusing distance is rated at between 1 and 1.6 feet for the 35mm and 50mm lenses, and around 2 feet for the 75mm lens. All three maintain an aperture range of T2.1 through T22 and should provide a nice bokeh thanks to their 16-bladed iris’.
The Lemo-Type C converting cable (4-pin, IP50), provides for data transmission of all lens metadata, including real-time transmission of focusing and aperture data with a unique DZOFILM data interface function.
The cable is capable of interfacing the lens with virtual cameras while keeping the connection splashproof and dustproof with an IP rating of 50. The data error is no more than 1% within 1-10m, and 3% over 10m. The connection also enables the lenses to interface with the DJI RS3 Pro gimbal without the need for recalibration.

DVOFilm states that the compact lens design of the Cyber prime series keeps the lenses small, lightweight, and nimble to use, with an overall weight of 2.5 pounds (1.15 kg) each.
All three lenses fit with EF and PL mount connections. They can withstand temperatures ranging from -13° F to 158° F (-25°C and +70°C).

The price of a single lens is $2,269, while the complete three-lens set is $6,599.However, pre-order pricing is in effect, getting users a slight discount between June 15th and July 15th.
