Crucial is blazing a trail for lightning-fast read/write speeds with its new T700 PCIe 5.0 M2 SSD Drives.
With read/write speeds that are twice as fast as the previous generation, this new M2 SSD is tailor-made for high-resolution video editing and CGI applications.
Harnessing Microsoft’s DirectStorage support protocol, the T700 can offer up to 60 percent loading of assets, as well as faster GPU decompression and up to 99% less CPU utilization.

This translates to the GPU taking more of the load off the main processor when loading assets.
The T700 has a Tri-Level Cell flash memory design with 232L NAND Memory, which will provide for sequential write speeds of up to 9,500 MB/s, and read speeds of up to 11,700 MB/s.
The drive is also expected to last up to 1.5 million hours between failures with up to 600TB written over its lifetime.
The T700 is built with aluminum and nickel-plated copper heatsinks for passive cooling to wick away heat and minimize throttling. Passive cooling also reduces fan noise.
The T700 will be available in 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB storage configurations, and will also come with or without the optional heatsink.
Crucial does state, however, that users will have to install the non-heatsink model with an alternate heatsink so that performance isn’t reduced.

Moreover, Crucial will also be offering DDR4 and DDR5 Pro Ram kits with 288-pin memory models for dual-channel memory applications. The faster memory kits will provide enhanced rendering speeds and multitasking options.
Pricing and Availability
The Crucial T700 PCIe 5.0 x4 M.2 Internal SSD will be available with a retail price starting at around $180 without the heatsink, and $210 with the heatsink for the 1TB model.
The 2TB model retails for $339 and $369 respectively, while the 4TB model retails for $600 and $639 respectively.
The Crucial DDR4 R Pro Ram Kit comes in 32GB and 64GB 3200 Mhz configurations for $69 and $142 respectively. The Crucial DDR5 Pro Ram Kit comes with a similar configuration but with only 32 total GB only for $115.
The configurations without heatsink are available now, while the heatsinked models and Ram Kits are available for preorder and will be shipping “soon.”
