DZOFilm, a leading player in the world of lens manufacturing out of China has announced a new set of Super 35mm Anamorphic Cinema lenses with a 2x magnification factor.
Dubbed the Pavo 2x Anamorphic Lenses, these new optics promise to redefine the wide-screen visual experience as it caters to the demands of medium-to-high-budget productions.
The Pavo 2x Anamorphic Cine Lenses, feature six lenses, ranging from 28mm to 100mm as well as boasting impressive T2.1/T2.4 apertures.

While designed chiefly as an ideal pairing with the Super 35mm image sensors, the lenses can be adapted to full-frame cameras when paired with DZOFilm’s Marlin expanders, extending their versatility to a wider range of creative projects.
The lenses are designed and built with 15 elements organized in 13 groups for the 28mm and 32mm T2.1, 15 elements in 14 groups for the 40mm T2.1, 14 elements in 13 groups for the 55mm T2.1, 15 elements in 14 groups for the 75mm T2.1, and 14 elements in 13 groups for the 100mm T2.4.
There are 14 aperture blades for the 28mm T2.1, and 16 aperture blades for the other five lenses, providing a nice, oval-shaped bokeh.

The Pavo Series lenses, with their Super 35 compatibility and 2x squeeze factor are compatible with various cinema cameras, offering captivating waterfall bokeh and a 2x compressive factor that widens the field of view.
This expansion captures intricate details within the background while faithfully reproducing the subject by which the lenses are focused.

The Pavo Series defies the stereotype of bulky anamorphic lenses with its solid yet lightweight aluminum alloy construction.
This design weighs between 1.2-1.6kg and makes them suitable for drone, gimbal, and Steadicam applications, expanding creative possibilities. Additionally, the lenses offer shorter minimum focus distances across all focal lengths.
The Pavo lenses feature a built-in back-focus adjustment, allowing precise adaptation to different cameras or mounts. This feature streamlines the workflow, enhancing efficiency and speed for filmmakers.

Pricing and Availability
The Pavo Anamorphic 2X lenses, available with optional imperial and metric scales, can be ordered through all DZOFilm dealers.
They come in two coating versions, blue and neutral, with each individual lens priced at $5,499 USD, packaged in protective hard cases.
A bundle of three lenses are available at a discounted rate of $15,999 USD, including one hard case. For those looking to capture the entire 28mm-100mm spectrum, the complete six-lens set is available for $30,999 USD, and comes shipped in two separate cases.
All lenses are set to ship in early October, with the exception of the 100mm lens and its corresponding bundles, which are scheduled for December delivery.
