Tokina Cinema is going old school with the release of its six-lens Vista-P line of Cinema optics. The primes offer a unique blend of high resolution and vintage feel, to provide cinematographers with a very classic optical approach to image capture.

Ranging from 18mm to 85mm, the Tokina Cinema Vista-P lenses have been redesigned from the ground up to provide the strong spherical aberration that was popular with vintage prime lenses back in the day.
The lenses take inspiration from the popular Petzval design and offer a swirly-like bokeh at a constant T1.5 aperture speed for excellent subject separation and nostalgic charm.
The lenses in the Vista-P prime collection include an 18mm T1.5, 25mm T1.5, 35mm T1.5, 50mm T1.5, and 85mm T1.5.
The full-frame lens optics are arranged between 10 groups of 13 elements to up to 14 groups of 17 elements, depending on the lens focal length. This optimized arrangement is specifically crafted for 8K image capture with both digital and film sensor support.

Tokina also states that the lenses were built with an internal focus system with .8 MOD Gears to provide nearly zero focus breathing and a 300° focus angle.
This design produces a maximum magnification factor of between 1:7.01 and 1:14.37, and an image circle of 46.7mm.

With durable, all-metal cinema-style housing geared focus rings, and a clickless, nine-bladed aperture, the lenses have the same design with 114mm front diameter and 112mm front filter thread.
This consistency will be welcomed by creatives who won’t have to waste time changing out or adjusting filters and step-down rings to use their matte boxes, filters, and FIZ (focus/iris/zoom) controls.

The lenses support mounting options that include PL, EF, MFT, E, and LPL and offer focus marks on both sides of the lens barrel for easy-to-read focus and aperture settings. Lastly, the robust all-metal design causes the Vista-P lenses to weigh between 4.59 and 6.19 pounds (2.08-2.81kg).
