Teradek Launches New Live View Platform for Remote Collaboration

Teradek has announced Teradek TV, a new live feed remote review platform for production and collaboration.

The new viewing platform will enable productions to create a worldwide video village, enabling real-time viewing of content creation with low latency.

“Teradek TV enables any production team, project, or even an entire studio to ‘drag and drop’ their video village or post suite into the cloud,” said Greg Smokler VP/GM of Cine Products.

“The platform is quick, intuitive, and scalable because it’s built on the powerful video streaming technology stack that Teradek has developed over the last 15 years.”

Easy to set up and manage, Teradek TV provides creatives, talent, executives, and clients the ability to monitor daily production operations, viewing color-accurate 4K HDR video as it appears to the camera crew as each shot is made.

This provides a seamless channel for all those involved in the production to collaborate with filmmakers on set in real time.

The entire solution is scalable and secure, empowering productions to manage the permission-based visibility from studio level to post-production, editorial, visual FX, and more.

The system offers up to four camera feeds with preset camera layouts and balanced production audio. Instant recordings and playback can be viewed from anywhere in the world, with drag-and-drop sharing and permission to download the day’s proxy files with metadata to get a head start on post-production and editing.

The system also offers special voice and text chat rooms to provide notes, make critical decisions faster, and collaborate in real-time as shooting progresses.

Dedicated spaces give each department in the production team its own private communication channels to discuss without interruption from other departments and chat freely.

Team members can also move in between more than one production, jumping from space to space to keep up with each production or unit out in the field. This provides widespread visibility across multiple locations and projects to keep up with what’s happening.

Military-grade encryption blocks unauthorized access to content, and will also offer watermarking as an added layer of security to guard against piracy and leaks. There are also native viewing apps for iOS, Android, Apple TV, macOS, and Windows, so that no matter where a person is in the world, or what platform they are on, they can stay in the loop.

Pricing and availability

The cloud-based system is available for subscription with multiple tiers including a Basic Tier which offers unlimited 8-bit 1080p HD video streams and up to 12 months of archive retention for $49 per user per month.

The Pro tier offers unlimited 4K (2160p) 10-bit video with a max bit rate of 10 Mbps for $99 per user per month with a year of archival retention or $8 per day for daily users.

There is also an Enterprise/Studio tier which offers unlimited 4K HDR Live with multi-production management tools, self-hosting servers, and additional support resources for custom pricing and archival plans.
