Insta360 has announced a comprehensive update to its Insta360 Studio video editing software.
The update provides some highly anticipated new features including the ability to compine multiple 360 files into a single timeline, a new speed editing tool, and being able to edit multiple clips with transitions and media assets.

“These developments make Insta360 Studio a highly flexible editing tool that meets the demands of modern creators,” states the Insta360 Announcement, “and makes it capable of producing seriously clean, ready-to-share edits. Whether 360° footage or regular flat images, Insta360 Studio can handle it all.”
After shooting a day’s worth of 360° video clips, users can now import them into a single edit for post processing.
Previously, the Insta360 Studio required an addition assembly edit outside of Insta360 Studio before cutting the project together.
Users simply start a new project, add the clips into the timeline, and then trim or adjust each clip as needed from the main timeline.
Users can also make multiple edits projects simultaneously and switch back and forth.

Insta360 Studio now also supports the adding of additional media elements including a music soundtrack, text and titl;es and video transitions. Users can select from a variety of royalty free music from Insta360 or select their own original works to import.
Text animation and effects can also be inserted into the video stream and customized to fit into the stream. Meanwhile, video transitions including special effects, speed ramping, and even tiny planet and barrel roll transitions can also be added.
Users can also add keyframes now with a single click, and sync changes to other ongoing projects and clips in the temporary media folder.
There is also a new Speed Editor function to adjust the speed of multiple clips and have them changed in a rippling fashion.
Lastly, Insta360 has made some housekeeping improvements to make the software more reliable and better performing. There is also now a new General Media folder to better organize favorite media assets that are used over and over again. These may include title cards, end cars, theme background music and even logos.
Downloading and Installation
The Insta360 Studio update is available now for free in both Windows and macOS variants. The update is compatible with all Insta360 consumer action cameras, including Insta360 Ace Pro & Ace, X3, ONE X2, RS, GO 3, GO 2, and others.
With these new features, Insta360 looks to move beyond its niche oriented video recording and expand into the realm of non linear editing of multiple camera platforms. It’s high time.
Users can download them at the Insta360 Support Website. There is also a new version of the Ai powered Insta360 Mobile Editing app, which will work in concert with the desktop version, which is available for update on both Google Play and the Apple App Store.
