Blackmagic has taken a bold step in the industry by reducing the prices of select URSA Cinema Camera Kits.
This decision follows a previous price increase aimed at offsetting tariffs in the United States.
Rather than passing these costs onto customers, Blackmagic is relocating the production of some cinema cameras to lower prices.
Here are the key details.

In April, Blackmagic announced that it would be implementing price increases in Australia due to the impact of US tariffs.
For example, the price of the Pyxis 12K Cinema Camera rose by 32%, making it $6,595.
Additionally, the entry-level Pyxis 6K camera saw an increase from $2,995 to $3,295, which is approximately a 10% rise.
However, now the current price for the Pyxis 12K sits at $5,495, which is considerably lower than Blackmagic initially expected.
This price fluctuation results from ongoing uncertainties surrounding tariffs under the current administration.
Instead of waiting for the political situation to stabilize, Blackmagic is proactively moving production to reduce manufacturing costs.
This strategy allows the company to pass savings onto its loyal customers.

The proactive change in manufacturing is already yielding positive results.
For example, the retail price of the URSA Cine 12K LF has dropped from $14,995 to as low as $7,695, representing changes in manufacturing locations and workflows.
When adding an LVF to the kit, the URSA Cine 12K LF price decreases from $16496 to $12,095.
Meanwhile, the flagship URSA Cine 17K has experienced a price decrease of up to $7,700, lowering its list price to $25,295 for the body only and $26,945 when including the electronic viewfinder (EVF).
It is important to note that these prices do not include duties and tariffs, which will add to the overall cost of purchases made within the United States.
However, customers can still enjoy significant savings when investing in these camera models, thanks to the recent adjustments in manufacturing.
Furthermore, these price changes apply solely to cameras purchased in the United States.
Prices for Cloud services and DaVinci Resolve will remain unchanged, and retail prices for cameras sold outside the United States will also stay the same.
