Dell UltraSharp 32-inch 8K Monitor Goes on Sale for Whopping $4,999

I’m not quite sure whether Dell is at the forefront of ingenuity, but obviously, their latest Dell UP3218K monitor has gained a lot of attention at CES 2017 and also won a few awards in the meantime. Being the world’s first 8K production-ready monitor, the unit is now officially on sale as it can be pre-ordered for whopping $4,999.

For the price, the display offers jaw-dropping 7680 x 4320 resolution with 1,07 billion colors, 280 PPI along with 100% coverage of both sRGB and AdobeRGB and 98% of DCI-P3. Other technical details worth noting include 178-degree viewing angle, 400 nits brightness, and 1,300:1 contrast ratio.

All in all, deep-pocketed creative professionals can finally get their hands on Dell’s 8K behemoth thus taking advantage of four times higher resolution than conventional Ultra HD 4K displays or sixteen times more than Full HD counterparts provide.

Apparently, this massive amount of resolution can be driven by only a few of the top-spec GPUs currently available on the market such as the latest Nvidia Quadro 4000 graphics card while utilizing both of its DisplayPort outputs at the same time.

Finding 8K content is a whole different story, though, but if you missed the opportunity to catch a glimpse of the premium Dell 8K display at CES 2017 and see what true 8K footage looks like in person, there are some 8K videos available on YouTube already that are certainly worth watching.

Besides the edge-to-edge, unparalleled viewing experience it offers, the Dell UP3218K sports a height-adjustable stand that lets you tilt, swivel, and pivot to just the right viewing position for a comfortable setup and convenience while working on a project.

Of course, you can use multiple applications, thanks to the Easy Arrange feature of the monitor that allows you to neatly tile the applications on one screen to view them all at once and then quickly find exactly what you are looking for.
