Canon Releases the EOS 90D and M6 Mark II Both Capable of Shooting Uncropped 4K Video

Finally, we have a Canon compact camera that shoots 4K video while using the full readout of its sensor! Actually, this applies to both new releases – the brand-new EOS 90D DSLR camera and its mirrorless sibling, the EOS M6 Mark II.

Both offerings sport a brand new 32.5MP APS-C CMOS sensor and are packed with some enticing features and specs such as uncropped 4K UHD video at up to 30fps alongside Full HD up to 120p. Besides the very same APS-C sensor and identical video capabilities, the newcomers also share the same DIGIC 8 processor as well as the proprietary Dual Pixel AF system.

Other than that, the Canon EOS 90D replaces the popular EOS 80D while featuring the same body along with identical features such as the 3″ 1.04m-dot vari-angle touchscreen LCD, monochrome status display on the top right-hand side, optical viewfinder, and the built-in flash. Unlike its predecessor, however, the new DSLR comes with a new eight-way rear joystick for navigating menus and controlling camera settings.

Additionally, the Canon 90D features Canon’s 5481-point Dual Pixel CMOS AF for video along with Eye-detect AF. The ISO range on the camera tops at 25600 for stills and 12800 when shooting video. Other noteworthy features include 45-point all cross-type AF system, 220,000pixel AE metering sensor, EOS iTR AF, Electronic Shutter Function, up to 10fps of continuous shooting, built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capabilities and more. The Canon EOS 90D DSLR camera is now available for pre-order selling for $1,199.
