Ronin-S Gets Force Mobile, ActiveTrack 3.0, and Sony A7R IV Support

World-leading gimbal maker DJI has just released a new firmware update for the Ronin-S which adds the highly demanded Force Mobile and ActiveTrack 3.0 features to the device along with video recording, autofocus, and focus pull support for Sony A7R IV cameras with supported E-mount lenses using a Multi-Camera Control Cable.

As a quick reminder, Force Mobile and ActiveTrack 3.0 were only available on the Ronin-SC thus far, but with the latest Firmware 2.0.0.90 these functionalities can be already used on the bigger sibling as well. In essence, the first feature synchronizes the movement of the connected mobile device with the gimbal itself whereas the latter can make the Ronin-S accurately follow selected subject using one of the supported mobile devices.

Firmware 2.0.0.90 also optimizes 3D Roll 360 mode of the Ronin-S. There’s now a quick switch that allows you to switch the mode on and off by pressing the M button three times. Furthermore, when the gimbal is in 3D Roll 360 mode, you can push the joystick left or right twice to enable Auto 3D Roll 360. That way, the device will rotate continuously without needing to hold the joystick all the time.
