Irix Rolls Out a 45mm f/1.4 Photo Lens with Manual Focus

Following the success of their cine lens lineup, Irix has just announced the brand new 45mm f/1.4 photo lens. The unit is the stills version of the popular cine counterpart and will be available in Canon EF, Nikon F and Pentax K lens mounts.

The newcomer sports a strong internal construction based on metal components with anti-scratch finish alongside an anti-slip rubberized focusing ring with a special notch. It also provides superior dust and moisture protection and comes equipped with a convenient hard case which makes the unit ideal for shooting in challenging weather conditions.

Interestingly, the photo lens is manual focus only, with a 140-degree focus throw. It also uses Irix’ Neutrino coating that is meant to maximize image contrast and minimize color aberration, ghosting and flaring.

For those of you planning to use filters with this photo lens, the Irix 45mm f/1.4 comes with 77mm front filter thread.
