The Sigma fp came out of the blue, from a company better known for its line of affordable, high-quality video and stills lenses. But Sigma’s take on an entirely new line of camera systems has top-of-the-line specs, packed into the smallest and lightest full-frame camera body available.
The Sigma fp is part of the L-Mount alliance between Sigma, Panasonic, and Leica, meaning a huge amount of compatibility with a wide range of lenses and accessories.
The camera can record 12-bit lossless CinemaDNG RAW files at UHD 4K resolution, meaning the ultimate in image quality and grading potential.
It also has an innovative director’s viewfinder function that allows the user to simulate different framings of cinema cameras from select manufacturers.
FilmConvert has included a CinemaDNG BMD Film profile for all users shooting RAW and using the software in DaVinci Resolve.
Coming soon to CineMatch as well, you could potentially use the Sigma fp as your ultimate universal b-cam to any other camera. To download the pack, head over to FilmConvert’s site here.
