The Steadimate-RS attaches a new mechanical connection and pan bearing to the 1/4-20” mounting holes and NATO ports of the Ronin Gimbal devices, plus adds a gimbal post extension weight to fine the balance adjustment and make the system all in one.
The mechanical gimbal yoke has a ball-bearing design to deliver full pan capability while providing support for X and Y-axis stabilization.
Working in concert, the Steadi-mate-RS and Ronin Gimbal configuration expands the capability of the Ronin to carry more weight without compromising the fluidity of camera movement.
The system also supports a greater vertical range of motion by adding a Low Mode capability which can invert the gimbal for an extremely low angle perspective without reconfiguration.
By adding the Steadicam Arm and Vest, operators can further reduce camera bounce while moving the camera through a walking shot, as well as reduce operator fatigue during extended takes and longer set days.
No longer will the camera operator have to manually carry the heavy motorized gimbal setup, or set it down during scene breaks running the risk of knocking the gimbal out of balance.
The setup will remain, however, flexible enough that the Steadicam operator can hand off the gimbal portion of the complete array, to continue a moving shot that may go through an obstacle or move up or down beyond the operator’s range of motion.

The complete system with the choice of a spring arm and vest combination, is available in either 15-lb./6.8 kg or 30-lb./13.6 kg load capacity.
The Steadimate-RS gimbal collar/yoke and the weighted base are available as well, to be incorporated in operators existing 1/2” post Steadicam, so no additional investment is required.

The preorder retail price of the Steadicam Steadimate-RS SDMRS-A15VK Kit pairs Steadimate-RS with the A15 Arm and Aero Vest for $1395. For 30-lb./13.6 kg capacity, the SDMRS-A30VK includes an A30 Arm and Zephyr Vest for $2995.
