In this digital day and age, it’s always surprising when a lens company announces a new manual focus lens, especially for the mirrorless platform.
And yet, TTArtisan continues to add to its analog collection with a 35mm F0.95 APS-C lens for mirrorless cameras.
With a click aperture ring and an old school design, the TTArtisan 35mm F0.95 lens is designed with lens mounts for cameras including Canon EOS M and RF, Fujifilm X, the infamous L-Mount Alliance cameras for Leica and Panasonic, Nikon Z and Sony E-mount cameras.
The lens can also be used for full-frame cameras when shooting in crop mode to escape vignetting.
The 35mm prime lens has seven lens elements, including high refractive index elements, organized in five groups, and has a minimum focusing distance of 1.2 feet (.35m) and with a ten-bladed iris, it offers an aperture range of F0.95-F16, so it should provide a nice rounded bokeh for background separation.
Overall, the lens measures 2.2 inches (57mm) by 1.6” (47mm) and it has a weight of around 8.7-9.4 ounces, depending on which camera mount is chosen.
The filter size is 52 millimeters, and the lens enjoys an angle of view of 45 degrees.
The lens is also constructed from aviation aluminum with an anodized finish and comes with a threaded, screw-on lens cap to keep out all the dust and prevent scratching.
This rugged design means the lens is so robust that it will last a lifetime.
However, being a manual focus lens, the TTArtisan 35mm F0.95 offers no autofocus or metadata transmission, so users will have to use it the old-fashioned way.
But some like that kind of old-school tactile workflow.
The TTArtisan 35mm F0.95 APS-C lens comes in either black or silver finishes and is outfitted with Rear and front body and lens caps, a user manual, and a warranty card.
