DZOFilm has launched a new macro-centric wide-angle lens. The Gnosis 24mm T2.8 Macro Cine Lens is the latest in the Gnosis line which includes lenses ranging from 32mm, 65mm, and 90mm macro lenses.
“From the MFD to INF, Gnosis provides excellent image quality with extreme sharpness from the center of the frame right out to the edges,” states the DZOFilm website.
“The color rendition is uniformly and naturally clean from in-focus to out-of-focus, presenting a stunning image rich in gradation.”
With an 83.8° field of view, the Gnosis 24mm T2.8 Macro cine lens offers full coverage for both full format and vista vision aspect ratios, as well as providing plenty of real estate for showing more background and depth of field.
The lens offers a 1.25:1 magnification ratio at 6 inches (0.155m) for sharp, immersive details in the macro realm with extremely up-close focusing distance.

Compared to the Gnosis 32mm/ 65mm/ 90mm whose magnification ratios are 1:1/ 1.33:1/ 1.5:1 respectively, and offering reproduction at 0.167m/ 0.237m/ 0.258m, the 24mm promises incredible details within the macro realm with what the company calls a “touchable feeling of filmed subjects.”
The lens has a 300-degree focus rotation stable and smooth focusing and can be purchased with focus markings in either feet or meters. The lens provides a constant lens aperture rating of T2.8, providing sharp images, even in low light conditions.

The newcomer is designed with three high refractive index (HRI) elements and two low-dispersion lens elements which control chromatic aberration and ensure vibrant and natural colors for a genuine cinematic image.
With a 12-bladed aperture, the lens also offers what DZOFilm calls an “appealing bokeh” with precision exposure control.
The lens also rounds out the entire four lens set with focal lengths ranging from macro, wide angle, standard, and telephoto lengths to provide a comprehensive shooting distance with a variety of field of view options.

Price and Availability:
The DZOFilm Gnosis 24mm T2.8 Macro wide angle lens retails for $5389, with a three lens set that includes the 24mm, 32mm, and 65mm lenses for $15999.
No explanation is given why DZOFilm has removed the 90mm from the set except maybe to keep the bundled price around the same but add the new optic.
However, that 90mm Macro lens is available separately for $5,389.00. The 24mm T2.8 will ship by the middle of March 2023.
