RØDE has announced a new addition to their line of wireless microphones, called the RØDE Wireless ME wearable microphone system.
The new system, based on the company’s RØDELink 2.4Ghz digital wireless technology, is touted as the world’s first wireless microphone system designed for mobile filmmaking using mobile smartphone cameras, cameras, and even computers.

With dual channel operation and onboard recording, the RØDE Wireless ME provides an extended range and universal compatibility for content creators no matter what camera platform they deploy.
RØDE says that the Wireless ME is the ultimate grab-and-go microphone providing similar performance, sound quality, and ease of use that RØDE has designed into their wireless microphone products starting with the Wireless GO.
The Wireless ME system offers clear recording transmission using a fourth-generation 2.4 Ghz encrypted transmission, with a maximum range of over 100 meters.
With RØDE’s Intelligent GainAssist technology, the Wireless ME automatically controls audio levels and prevents clipping and interference.

GainAssist applies intelligent algorithms to adjust audio levels on the fly with no level pumping or background noise elevation.
There are two modes including “Auto” and “Dynamic” which users can select to create the ideal settings for their recording situation. The output gain can also be manually adjusted to dial in the audio even further.
Both transmitter and receiver are designed with broadcast-grade microphones for dual-channel recording, with the added option of capturing a third microphone simultaneously by connecting a third transmitter.
Both units also have a rechargeable lithium-ion battery for up to 7 hours of battery life.

App Compatibility
The ME system is also easily controllable using RØDE Central and is compatible with RØDE Connect and RØDE Reporter apps.
Moreover, RØDE has released a new iOS app called RØDE Capture, which is designed to record audio and video through an easy-to-use intuitive interface that is geared towards short-form content creation including TikTok, Snapchat, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram Reels.

RØDE Capture is fully featured with control over aspect ratio, video resolution, frame rate, and zoom, with dual camera modes for separate, split screen, or picture-in-picture style video tracks. This makes RØDE Capture a solid option for recording on-the-street interviews.
RØDE Capture seamlessly integrates with the Wireless ME microphone system and records dual channel audio, as well as dual video recording at high-quality bitrates for broadcast-quality video content.
The RØDE Wireless ME comes with everything needed to get started recording out of the box, including four cables for connecting to phones, tablets, cameras, and computers, as well as two furry windshields for recording outdoors and in windy conditions.
