DJI has just announced the launch of its next-generation Osmo Action 4. The camera has an improved 1/1.3” image sensor and a wide f2.8 aperture which promises improved image quality and better low-light performance, plus a longer-lasting battery for users to keep shooting.
The newcomer’s new lens offers an ultra-wide field of view of 155° and offers improved image stabilization which features HorizonSteady, a 360° stabilization mode, plus RockSteady 3.0+ for better horizon balancing and first-person viewpoint capture.

The camera can also capture 10-bit D-Log M color for a wider dynamic range and over 1 billion colors. An advanced color temperature sensor promises to ensure true-to-life skin tones and better images indoors, outdoors, and even underwater.

The camera can also “quick switch” between five custom shooting modes, enabling users to switch on the fly using a voice prompt with the Quick Switch button.
Users can also be informed of current shooting modes without needing to unmount the camera. Voice control also has a higher recognition rate for hands-free operation.
DJI has also upgraded the camera’s popular InvisiStick function, which identifies and digitally hides the selfie stick, eliminating it from the shot for a floating camera-like effect.
Users can also use the Horizontal-Vertical protective frame to create vertical footage without cropping or downscaling the image.

The Action 4 is also designed to provide over 2.5 hours of battery life, plus a fast charging capability that can bring the camera up to 80% charge in around 18 minutes.
The camera is also freeze-resistant for recording up to 150 minutes at temperatures as low as -4°F (-20°C).
The camera also has dual water stain-resistant touchscreen displays, built-in stereo microphones for improved sound recording, as well as USB-C support for external recording options.
The camera also supports live streaming via WiFi for connecting wirelessly or through a mobile phone’s hotspot feature.
