FilmConvert Adds Support for Panasonic GH6

FilmConvert has added support for the new Panasonic GH6 mirrorless camera, enabling users of the micro four-thirds platform to create film grain and a more cinematic look to their video footage.

A very popular platform for online content creators on YouTube, the Panasonic GH micro four-thirds platform has been a potent combination of a lightweight and compact camera design, coupled with ultra high resolution and color gamut.

Launched in February, the GH6 is the latest in the GH line and enables filmmakers to capture 6K video at 60 frames per second, or 4K video at 120 fps.

The next generation Venus Engine provides advanced image processing of the video capture in Apple ProRes 422 HQ and provides up to 13 stops of dynamic range.

With nearly unlimited recording time in 4K DCI, the GH6 supports 4:2:2 10-bit sampling for pristine detail and depth in color grading while creating visually lossless, high bitrate footage that provides a myriad of options in post-production.

FilmConvert’s new camera pack for Nitrate and Cinematch, now supports the Panasonic GH6 enabling users to apply grain and film emulsion effects to their video footage, causing their image to look like it was shot on film.

The plugins have been calibrated for the redesigned GH6 image processor and tested to ensure the best possible cinematic image with no artifacts or distortion.

If new to FilmConvert Nitrate, the software contains a series of custom camera profiles, called packs, which can be applied through the plugins of your NLE, or through the Cinematch software.

The software currently costs $139 for a single license, or $199 for the all-in-one bundle, thanks to a 20% off sale which is going on right now. New profiles are available as free downloads.

The all-you-can-eat bundle is ideal for working with multiple platforms and editing systems. After purchase, users simply download the new Nitrate camera pack from FilmConvert or install the latest version of Cinematch to apply the update.

Users can swing by FilmConvert.com for more information and pick up a copy before the sale ends. If you’re unsure, there’s also a free trial which you can download and give a test spin. But if you want to add some grain to your video for that movie look, it’s the ideal way to get it.
