Seeking to fill the niche of a more affordable wireless video transmission tool for indy filmmakers, Teradek has released the Bolt 4K LT HDMI wireless video system. Designed for cameras that have HDMI-only connections for data transmission, the Bolt 4K LT HDMI has a price point that makes it very affordable for filmmakers who aren’t using a more complex SDI setup.
Keeping the basic functions of the original 4K LT, the Bolt 4K LT HDMI has zero-latency transmission of uncompressed high definition video to a distance of up to 750 feet (228mm) and can also transmit 4K30p in 10-bit 4:2:2 HDR. The Bolt has to transmit the video to any Bolt 4K series receiver to achieve zero latency, but up to six different receivers can be used to connect.

The Bolt 4K LT HDMI has seven antennas, two on the TX transmitter in V & H configurations, and five on the RX receiver. Without SDI, the Bolt 4K LT HDMI uses HDMI 2.1 inputs and outputs to connect to cameras, and provides camera metadata including Time Code and stop/start triggers.
With 1/4-20 and M3 mounting options, the Bolt 4K LT HDMI can be mounted to a variety of cameras, cages, magic arms and other rigging options as the camera operator prefers. It is powered by two-pin DTAP, Gold Mount, and V-Mount battery power connections.

The Bolt 4K LT also uses AES-256 encryption for security and has an active noise rejection feature that can maintain a clean look of the image without dealing with interference from a crowded wireless radio band.
The Teradek Bolt App connects to the Bolt via Bluetooth, and provides a spectrum analysis tool to choose the perfect channel and also to configure the Bolt 4K LT HDMI remotely.
The app also offers LUT Output control and wireless signal monitoring.

Teradek also has a partnership with SmallHD, which wirelessly integrates the company’s SmallHD Smart 7 Monitors without any need for cables that can get in the way.
The retail price of the Bolt 4K LT HDMI is $1990, or $2290 with the Gold Mount or V-Mount kit. Additional Receivers clock in at $1090 or $1190 with VMount. There’s also a transmitter-only V-Mount option for $1190. The standard kit with DTap power is $1090.
