Sirui has recently announced a new Saturn 35mm T2.9 1.6X Anamorphic Cinema Lens that is specifically designed for mobile applications, including for use with gimbal-mounted cameras, and even drones that can carry a larger camera rig.
The lens is smaller than a can of soda, measuring about 100-103 mm long and weighing less than 415g.

The Saturn 35mm T2.9 Anamorphic lens comes optional with a DJI DL Mount, to attach to a Zenmuse camera platform, as well as the DJI Ronin 4D Cinema Camera.
However, there are also mounts supporting cameras using RF, and E Mounts, including mirrorless and larger Cinema cameras supporting those mounting options.
The full-frame Saturn 35mm lens has 18 lens elements, organized in 13 groups, and a 10-bladed aperture for a nice rounded, oval-shaped bokeh.
The lens is, however, manually focused, so when dealing with remote operations such as drone control, the lens is best set at infinity.

The Saturn 35 also comes in two different color-coded lens flare configurations. The Blue line series offers the classic anamorphic blue horizontal lens flare, while the gold series offer a more naturally colored lens flare.
Both lens models offer a constant squeeze aspect ratio, and according to Sirui, focus breathing has been controlled for minimal effect.
The lens offers two different focal length effects, depending on which aspect ratio the user selects in their camera. With a 3:2 sensor, the lens’ anamorphic de-squeeze is 2.4:1, while on a 16:9 sensor, the aspect ratio ends up at 2.8:1.

Other specs of Saturn 35mm T2.9 1.6X Anamorphic Cinema Lens include a 120° focus throw, a minimum focus distance of 35.4 (90cm), a filter size of 58mm, and an aperture range of T2.9-T16.
The lens is kept light with a carbon fiber exoskeleton, giving it a robust build quality that guards again excessive damage should the lens be impacted due to dropping, or a crashed drone.
The Sirui Saturn 35mm T2.9 1.6X Anamorphic Cinema Lens is available for pre-order early bird price of $1099, however, this discount is available only for limited quantities. Once fulfilled, the retail price will be $1299. Available in DL, RF, and E mount options.
