Prograde has announced their next generation Type B CF Express Gold Card that maxes out at 2 TB in storage capacity while promising the same performance as their previous 2nd Generation cards which peak at 256GB.
The card joins ProGrade’s collection that includes 1TB and 512GB CF Express cards which were announced in January.

“The introduction of our 3rd generation CF Express 2 TB Gold cards provides the extra-large capacity and performance needed for a very broad range of video capture needs,” stated Wes Brewer, Founder, and CEO, of ProGrade Digital.

The 2 TB Type B Gold Card is fully compliant with the CompactFlash™ Association 2.0 specification and utilizes the Gen3 X2 PCI-Express data transfer spec which allows for the writing and transferring of 8K original camera files at blazing-fast speeds.
The ProGrade Gold cards have been designed to provide improved performance for professional-grade cinema, video, and still image cameras through optimized controllers.
The third-generation Type B CFE media cards promise burst reading speeds of up to 1700 MB/s and burst writing speeds that top out at 1500 MB/s. The card also promises a sustained writing speed of 1300 MB/s.
The cards also support the NVMe PS0-PS4 support spec, which extends battery life by using less power while in standby mode.
The card also prevents data from being lost due to overheating by throttling data writing when the temperature exceeds 158° F (14° C). The card can also operate at a low of 14° F (-10° C).
Moreover, the card is constructed with an all-metal enclosure for improved durability and heat management and is designed to be X-ray and shock-proof.
The card is supported by ProGrade’s Refresh Pro vs. 3.1 media card maintenance utility which sanitizes the media card and brings it back to its factory-fresh condition, for premium performance.
Pricing and Availability
The 2 TB Type B CF Express Gold Card, is available “soon” for pre-order at a retail price of $799 or $1439 for a two-card bundle. It also comes with a three-year warranty. ProGrade is listing it as shipping in the “coming weeks.”
