Fuji has just announced the X100 VI point-and-shoot mirrorless camera, which can capture 6.2K video and make it rock steady thanks to in-body image stabilization.
The camera can also add a film-like simulated grain to make the video appear more cinematic.
Equipped with the same 40 MP X-Trans CMOS image sensor from the X-H2 APS-C mirrorless camera coupled with Fuji’s X 5 processor, the X100 VI can capture 6.2K 30p video with 64-bit processing and 10-bit color.

The camera can also capture 4K HQ video by oversampling from the sensor and outputting a sharper image with a frame rate of up to 60p. It will also capture 1080p HD video at up to 240p, making it great for slow motion.
The camera can also apply what Fuji refers to as a “Film Simulation Mode” which reproduces the look and feel of several of Fujifilm’s iconic film types.
There are also 19 other filter modes including Provia, Velvia, Astia, Classic Chrome, PRO Neg. Standard, PRO Neg. Hi, Classic Neg., Nostalgic Neg., Eterna Cinema, Eterna Bleach Bypass, Acros, Acros + Ye Filter, Acros + R Filter, Acros + G Filter, Black & White, Black & White + Ye Filter, Black & White + R Filter, Black & White + G Filter, and Sepia.
But what may be its most exciting feature is that the X100 VI is the first point-and-shoot camera to offer five-axis sensor-shift in-body image stabilization.
This promising feature will dampen out up to six stops of camera shake which can be made even better thanks to the camera’s deep learning adaptive AI algorithm for facial detection and tracking of a variety of subject types.
Coupled with a 425-Point Intelligent Hybrid AF System the camera is able to lock onto subjects and track them with remarkable accuracy.

The camera can also capture fast-moving subjects for still image photography courtesy of an electronic shutter speed of 1/180,000 second or a mechanical shutter speed of 1/4000 which Fuji says can “stop any subject in its tracks.”
The camera can also capture bursts of 20 fps with a 1.29x electronic crop or 11 fps with the mechanical shutter.
The X100 VI also comes with a 23mm f/2 APS-C lens which is built with two apsherical lens elements, and a 4-stop ND filter in its optical design. The result is a 35mm full-frame image sensor equivalent.
The lens also incorporates 1.4x and 2.0x digital teleconverter settings to push out longer focal lengths of 49mm and 70mm respectively. It’s like having three lenses in one.
Other features include an Advanced Hybrid viewfinder for both optical and electronic functions, as well as digital metadata overlays and a clear view.
There is also a tiltable 3.2 inch 1.3 million dot LCD screen, locking dials and levers to set exposure settings with a tactile feel, and a rear joystick to set and move autofocus points and image playback.

The camera also has a single UHS-II standard SD card slot and is powered by an NP-W126S rechargeable battery for up to 450 frames per charge.
Camera to Cloud integration is also supported through Frame.io and the camera’s built-in wifi connection, or through a cabled ethernet LAN connection, where users can securely upload H.264 video proxies or hi-resolution RAW or JPEG images.
There is also Bluetooth control for connecting to a mobile device for remote control.

The Fujifilm X100 VI is available for preorder in either all black or silver for a retail price of $1599. Shipping begins February 28, 2024.
