The Atomos Shogun Inferno gets full SMPTE 6G compatibility in latest firmware v8.42 in addition to support for Panasonic EVA1 and Alexa Mini cameras. Atomos are also extending their free sunhood offer until December 15th, for new purchases of the Sumo19 and Sumo19M production monitors. The previous firmware update v8.4 added 2K/240fps Raw to ProRes and 12bit 4K Cinema DNG recording from the Panasonic Varicam LT; you can get the full details of the previous firmware v8.4 in this post here.
6G support on the Inferno opens the doors for basically any 6G equipped camera or switch, enabling the Shogun Inferno’s signal to carry to embedded audio, timecode and start/stop trigger, thus enhancing the Inferno’s appeal with broadcasters and post-production crews.

And more good news for those interested in picking up a new production monitor, Atomos have extended their FREE sunhood offer to December 15th 2017; and not only that, but the offer now includes the new Sumo19M monitor-only version of the Sumo19. The original offer extended only to the Sumo19 (which also features Raw and compressed recording options), and was until November 10th.
The Atomos Sumo19/Sumo19M sunhood is a fully collapsible zipper design that securely attaches to the front bezel of the Sumo body via 1/4-20 screws.
This design allows the collapsed hood to double up as a screen protector for safe transportation. The Sumo19/Sumo19M sunhood reduces the effect of reflections onset improving your HDR experience and viewing environment, with a durable outer fabric and a soft velvet inner, making it a must for onset monitoring.
